Recently one of the major streets in downtown Toronto was repainted by the city in order to replace one of the traffic lanes with two new bike lanes on each side.
Drivers were not pleased, but those who live along the street and often use bikecycles are really happy. Hopefully we will start seeing less cars taking this street and people on bikes will take advantage of the new lanes. I use the bike for recreational purposes , so I was very please with the change. Now I feel much safer taking this route when I bike to the lake. Also I noticed that someone posted this week these little 'Thank you notes' on lamp posts along the route:
