Thanks to MissionCriticalStudios.com I have been playing a new iPhone game is called Dr. Nano. If you have ever seen the Fantastic Voyage, a 1966 science fiction film written by Harry Kleiner you will instantly have a good idea about the premise of this game. Dr. Nano wants to treat patients from the inside by shrinking down to a specified size and be inserted inside a body. In this 3D journey into the human body you become Dr. Nano responsible for saving life of your patient by elimination of pathogens in the bloodstream. This is a perfect game not only for those who enjoy biology or medicine in general, but also those who are big fans of iPhone's built-in accelerometer as this game takes advantage of it to the fullest!

The premise of the game is simple (and I like simple uncomplicated games you can get into fast) - you are Dr. Nano swimming inside of veins of to kill pathogens in the blood stream. Dr. Nano has a limited about of oxygen available to him (you can see remaining percentage clearly on the screen in the lower left) so you need to catch by colliding with the red blood cells to remain alive in the game as your oxygen depletes quickly when you swim. You can control how fast you swim by adjusting the thrust slider on the left side of the screen. Using iPhone's built-in accelerometer you control your movements by tilting your iPhone to left, right, front and back. iPhone responds to motion using a built-in accelerometer making the task of controlling this games a lot of fun! Thanks to this technology you are able to blast viruses, blood clots, deploy a stent, blast lethal parasites in Dr. Nano game and make your way through the human heart! There is a training session provided in at the beginning of the game so you can get a better handle on the game controls if you need it...

Each level gives you gives you clear Mission Briefing so you understand what is your objective for each level of the Dr. Nano game. Your progress through each level is clearly shown at the end of each mission. If you are not happy with results you can retry it before you continue to the next level. Your High Score is kept at the end of each game and you can access it anytime from the menu screen.

All in all, if someone is a big fan of games, which take advantage of built-in accelerometer to control your movements within the game, you probably will enjoy it for hours and days to come. You will need plenty of skills and time to master all levels, pretty much quarantining a good challenge. They are two level to the game right from the start, Normal and Expert. If you need a little more challenge right from the start, I suggest choosing Expert settings. 3D Graphics are impressive, music and sounds effects add a great value to the overall game experience. It is simply a lot of fun and I am sure this game will only get better as time goes on and newer version are release to the public. I would give it 5 out of 5 stars! Games like this make iPhone a real gaming platform!

There are two version of the game, the full version with 21 levels for only $2.99 and Dr. Nano Lite free version - both available through iTunes App store. Considering the amount work it was put into creating this game, it worth the cost. iPhone requirements are: 2nd Generation recommended, requires iPhone 2.2 Software Update and it has been tested with iPhone 3.0 OS.
